The Property Ombudsman - Approved Estate Agents Redress Scheme

Property Ombudsman As a member of The Property Ombudsman, Squarefoot follow the Code of Practice for Residential Estate Agents.

Squarefoot are also members for lettings related matters and can resolve disputes referred by landlords or tenants fairly via the Ombudsman. We have a comprehensive internal complaints procedure, and hence the need for the Ombudsman has never arisen.

Trading Standards Institute

Trading Standards Institute The Trading Standards Institute (TSI) has now approved The Property Ombudsman (TPO) Codes for Sales and Letting agents.

Squarefoot now hold a TSI 'approved trader' status to assure consumers that we operate the highest service standard.

Tenants and landlords can now be assured that they are dealing with an agent registered with the largest government-approved property ombudsman scheme in the UK.

NALS Accredited member Client Money Protection Scheme


Squarefoot is accredited by The National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS).

NALS is a Government backed accreditation scheme which offers peace of mind to landlords and tenants through the knowledge that the firm they are dealing with offers clearly defined levels of customer service.

As members of the Scheme, Squarefoot agree to:

  • Meet defined standards of customer service.
  • Be part of a Client Money Protection Scheme.
  • Have a written customer complaints procedure offering independent redress through an ombudsman.
  • Have current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
  • Have a designated client bank account.

SAFE Agent

Squarefoot are SAFE – Safe Agent Fully Endorsed; denoting that we protect landlords and tenants’ money through a client money protection scheme.

Squarefoot maintain and operate separate designated client accounts where client money is held completely separate from the operating funds of the agency.

Tenancy Deposit Scheme member


Squarefoot register all deposits held in respect of Assured Shorthold tenancies with The Tenancy Deposit Scheme.  

The Tenancy Deposit Scheme for Regulated Agents (TDSRA) has been developed to ensure that the deposits they hold are protected and that disputes about their return are resolved swiftly, inexpensively and impartially.

Tenants and landlords alike are afforded the benefit of a completely cost free deposit arbitration service where needed.
